Safety Doesn't Happen By Accident!

What is now proven was once only imagined. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but foresight is critical, especially when it comes to being prepared!

We take health and safety seriously at our guest inn and the overall health and safety of our guests. This is not a 'flavour of the day' mindset, it is our standard operating procedure, something we think about and practice every single day, something we thought important to share with you.

Val has a background in the health sciences; as a dental hygienist she knows the standards and expectations of practicing professional hygiene, this is especially important in the kitchen. The preparation, handling and storage of food to prevent food-borne illness is critical. Val is trained in food safety and makes every effort to ensure our guests health is a top priority. Our dishes are cleaned using a sanitation mode, which according to the operating manual kills 99.99% of bacteria. Val is also trained in first-aid and CPR.

The cleanliness of our guest inn is something we take great pride in and the feedback we continually receive is greatly appreciated. These are standards that we have always applied and have been a top priority and expectation. We only use all natural unscented cleaning products and the candles we use in our guest inn they are only natural beeswax or soy-based products.

Our guest inn is also equipped with a commercial first aid kit and in the community of Dyers Bay, there is a Automated External Defibrillator (AED) that is available if needed in an emergency. We also have a generator that can operate the essentials in the guest inn should we encounter a power outage.

Our drinking water comes directly from the Bay, which is filtered and then processed through our advanced ultraviolet water purification system. This process is the most effective method for disinfecting bacteria from water. Ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate harmful pathogens in our water supply and destroys illness-causing microorganisms by attacking their genetic core (DNA). We have our water tested every three months by a professional lab in London Ontario, something we do all year round.

As referenced, being prepared is our way of trying to ensure that our guests well-being is taken seriously and our Guest Inn is somewhere you can come and really relax and unwind.
